A rare tripod stool by Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus, Vittsjö, dating from the 1960s. An elegant example of Scandinavian modernism, combining a beautifully proportioned oak frame with its original black leather seat. The construction is both simple and highly considered. Three finely tapered oak legs are connected by a triangular framework, creating a light architectural silhouette while providing support for the suspended leather seat. The black leather is tensioned across the frame with an intricate system of original leather straps and metal buckles underneath — a particularly beautiful detail that reveals the quality and ingenuity of the design. The contrast between the warm oak and black leather gives the stool a timeless character, while the triangular form makes it especially sculptural when viewed from different angles. Both stools remain in original vintage condition, including their original leather, with visible signs of age and use that contribute to their authentic character. The oak has developed a warm natural patina, while the leather shows gentle wear consistent with its age. A particularly rare Kristiansson design and an appealing collector’s piece of 1960s Swedish furniture. Priced and sold per piece.
