Marc Verdoodt – Monumental sculptures

A striking pair of large sculptural works by Belgian artist Marc Verdoodt, made out from the rare Belgian marble Noir de Mazy. These powerful abstract sculptures showcase Verdoodt’s distinctive sculptural language, characterized by faceted planes, deep carved textures, and rhythmic geometric cuts. The surfaces reveal dynamic chisel marks that catch the light beautifully, creating a rich interplay between shadow, texture, and the deep charcoal tones of the marble. Made out from Noir de Mazy marble, a historic Belgian stone prized for its density and dark tonal depth, the sculptures possess both visual strength and refined material presence. Their twisting vertical forms evoke a sense of movement, almost geological in character, while maintaining a strong architectural stance. The works are signed by the artist and stand at an impressive 74–75 cm in height, making them unusually large examples of Verdoodt’s sculptural production. Pieces of this scale are rarely encountered on the market. Presented as a pair, the sculptures create a compelling dialogue between form, mass, and negative space, making them ideal as a statement installation in a contemporary interior or architectural setting. Priced and sold per piece.
