This exceptional set of five Les Arcs dining chairs was selected by Charlotte Perriand for the iconic ski resort Les Arcs in France during the 1960s. Designed to respond to the functional demands of alpine architecture while maintaining a strong modernist identity, these chairs perfectly embody Perriand’s humanist and pragmatic approach to design. The chairs feature elegant chrome tubular steel frames, all in excellent condition, offering a refined contrast to the warmth of the seating. The seats and backs are crafted from thick, high-quality black leather, which has developed a beautiful, authentic patina over time. The natural creases, subtle wear, and tonal variations in the leather speak to decades of use, enhancing the character and depth of each chair rather than detracting from it. Robust yet visually light, the design balances industrial materials with comfort and tactility. Conceived for communal dining in a high-altitude environment, these chairs are both durable and inviting—qualities that make them equally suited to contemporary dining interiors today. A rare and highly desirable set with strong architectural provenance, representing one of the most important figures of 20th-century design.
