An exceptional Danish side table, handcrafted in Aalborg during the 1960s. Distinguished by its refined proportions and remarkable combination of materials, the table features an intricate teak parquet top supported by a slender brass column rising from a substantial solid glass base. The tabletop is composed of meticulously arranged teak segments, creating a geometric pattern that beautifully highlights the natural variation of the wood. The elegant brass support provides a subtle contrast to the warmth of the teak, while the heavy glass base lends the piece a sculptural, almost weightless appearance. Bearing its original “Håndarbejde” label, the table is a fine example of small-scale Danish cabinetmaking from the period.
