Brutalist stone table lamps

Brutalist stone table lamps

Discover this striking vintage pair of 1980s sculptural lamps, combining raw concrete bases with natural stone elements. Each lamp is composed of a solid, textured concrete block, intentionally left with a rugged, almost volcanic surface. Resting within the recessed top is a rough-cut natural stone — its crystalline structure revealed when illuminated from below. When switched on, the light diffuses through the translucent mineral, creating a soft, atmospheric glow that contrasts beautifully with the brutalist solidity of the concrete base. The interplay between weight and luminosity is central to the design: heavy architectural forms paired with organic, irregular stone. Unlit, the pieces read as minimalist sculptures. Lit, they transform into ambient light objects with a warm, almost ethereal presence. The integrated light source subtly illuminates both the stone and the underside of the base, producing a floating effect. Priced and sold as a set of two pieces.
