Elegant pair of Capella easy chairs, model no. 4, designed by Illum Wikkelsø for N. Eilersen, Denmark, 1959. The chairs feature beautifully proportioned solid teak frames with refined, expressive joinery, particularly visible at the armrests, where Wikkelsø’s attention to detail and craftsmanship truly stands out. The design combines architectural clarity with a soft, inviting silhouette, characteristic of Danish modern seating from the late 1950s. Recently restored with great care, the chairs have been reupholstered in a fresh wool blend by Jan Jan van Essche, chosen for its subtle texture and understated tonal depth. The restoration was carried out with respect for the original design, preserving a rich and honest patina to the teak frames. Both chairs are labeled underneath, confirming authenticity. A rare and timeless set that works beautifully in both modern and classic interiors. The listed price is for the set of two pieces.
